Non-communicable diseases take the highest toll today.Many speak about malaria and HIV being the big killers in regions like Asia and Afirca but there also non-communicable diseases (NCD) like diabetis and cardio-vascular diseases start to take a very high toll. This makes the UN to meet and discuss the topic today (Sept. 19, 2011) because much can be done by the individual to prevent these diseases.
