Project SCIENTIFIC WRITING - RESPIRATORY TRACT INFECTIONS

BECKMANN BIO as a consultancy agency provides services to companies in life science to support the commercialization of their products. This includes support on writing scientific papers, posters and developing respective presentations for conferences on behalf of internal and external scientists and investigators.

Within this area we are looking for a scientific writer with experience in respiratory tract infections, and in chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases (COPD) if possible.

Project Description :

• In collaboration with 3 senior scientific experts you will be developing a manuscript based on the content of their presentations made at a symposium during a congress of a medical society (3 presentation of 30 mins) based on the following underlying material:
• original presentation material
• 2 videos of the complete symposium (~100 min. each)
• reference material to the data/information presented at the symposium
• an informal summary of the symposium (already available) pointing out the highlights/important information presented at the symposium
• You will be asked to develop in Endnote reference format the following material for review
• bulleted out-line
• full draft
• final draft
• You will take responsibility for the coordination of the project, especially the direct communications with authors, the collation of comments, their integration, and you will be asked to ensure the flawless progress of the project.
• After submission you will be responsible to prepare responses, if needed, addressing comments made by journal reviewers and to agree these with the authors.
• Potentially you might be asked to prepare a resubmission package.

Core Competencies :

For the project in question we look for a person with the following experience and backgroud:

• writing of scientific papers in the field of medical science
• writing of publications for peer reviewed scientific journals (please provide a reference list)
• collaboration with senior scientific investigators at an international level and with publishers of peer-reviewed scientific journals
• understanding of copy rights within the field of scientific publicaitons
• development and re-development of graphical material used within the presentations (support here will be provided by BECKMANN BIO also)
• project management of scientific writing, KOL management within suhc projects, comment tracking, manuscript submission to peer-reviewed scientific journals

Timelines :

For the project the client has set the following timelines/expectations you will be asked to respect:

• Start: as soon as possible, immediately
• Bulleted Outline : within 1 week (rough draft available from internal summary document)
• Discussion with authors: week 2
• Preparation of document : 4 weeks (week 3-6)
• Discussion with authors : week 7
• Preparation of final document : 2 weeks (week 8 -9)
• Final Review and Finalization of the manuscript: week 10
• Final Draft available : week 10
• Submission of the manuscrit to the journal : week 11

In summary the project is to take you not longer than 3 month.
